Why AVANA exists

We've sat in the rooms where transformation goes wrong. We built AVANA so it doesn't have to.

Between us, we bring over 35 years of experience leading change, building capability and redesigning the way organisations work - inside some of Australia's and the world's most complex enterprises.

We've worked at ANZ, AIA Australia, EY, Deloitte, NCS Group, Ventia and Cushman & Wakefield. We've led transformation programs spanning financial crime, digital adoption, AI enablement, operating model redesign, workforce transition and cultural change. We've both held senior roles. We've both been in the room when a project went sideways, not because the technology failed, but because the human side of change was underestimated, underfunded or simply forgotten.

We actually met inside ANZ, working alongside each other on one of the most complex financial crime transformation programs in the bank's history. That experience, navigating high-stakes change together, at pace, with real consequences, is where the idea for AVANA began.

What we kept seeing, across every organisation we worked in, was the same gap: large enterprises with deep pockets got full change teams, enterprise learning functions, OD practitioners, external consultants and executive coaches. SMBs, councils and growing organisations got a project manager, a slide deck and hope.
